The XIA project presented a demo of the XIA prototype at the 12th GENI Engineering Conference (GEC) in Kansas City on November 2, 2011. The demo used four ProtoGENI nodes located in Los Angeles, Kansas City, Virginia and Texas and a node at CMU. The XIA Team used content retrieval, video streaming and live services to demonstrate various capabilities enabled by XIA, including the decoupling of application and network evolution, automatic service failover, and transitioning from IPv4 to XIP.
